Karon is a Phuket resort area arranged around a long west-coast beach. Restaurants, hotels and casual bars provide the basics for an easy beach stay, with a more spread-out feel than Patong. The central strip can be busy, and surf conditions change with the monsoon season.
Keep in mind
The resort strip is spread out, so walks and trips between areas can be longer than they look. Main roads get busy, and seasonal surf can limit the kind of beach days you have in mind.
