About Where in Thailand
A place to work out which part of Thailand suits your trip.
It started with a few familiar questions
“Phuket or Krabi?” “Which island would you pick?” “Is July a bad time to go?”
I’ve spent years travelling, and friends often come to me with questions like these. My answer usually starts with a few questions of my own. When are you going? Do you want somewhere quiet? Will you rent a scooter?
I made this site because I wanted somewhere to point people to, where they could compare places and work out what would suit them.
Two ways to narrow it down
If you have a couple of places in mind, compare them side by side. Look at the differences in beaches, food, atmosphere and getting around, along with typical conditions for your travel month.
If you’re still deciding where to start, the finder asks about your interests, travel month and practical preferences. It gives more weight to the things that matter to you and explains why each place appears in your shortlist.
It won’t plan your whole holiday. It should help you decide which places are worth looking into.
The details matter
A lovely beach might be awkward to reach. A quiet island might feel too quiet for you. I want the comparisons to cover those less convenient bits, too.
Seasonal information describes typical conditions for the month, rather than a forecast for your dates. Coverage is still growing, so the finder and comparisons currently include only the places listed on the site.
Free to use
I got tired of travel pages where every recommendation seemed to lead to a booking link. Sometimes you just want to know whether you’d enjoy a place before anyone tries to sell you a hotel there.
Where in Thailand is free to use. There’s no charge to compare places or see your matches, and you don’t need an account.
